Recovery 750mg CBG + Full Spectrum CBD Oil

Our 750mg Recovery CBG + Full Spectrum CBD oils combine the benefits of Full Spectrum CBD extract and Cannabigerol (CBG) that we’ve extracted and isolated from organically grown hemp with naturally higher traces of CBG. This specific CBD CBG tincture contains 375mg of our Full Spectrum CBD oil and 375mg CBG. Our CBG isolate has greater than 98% purity, and third-party lab tested for potency, heavy metals, pesticides, solvents, and microbial contaminants.

CBG is known as the “stem cell” of the hemp plant as it’s the cannabinoid that converts into other cannabinoids (CBD, THC, etc.) in the hemp plant’s life cycle. CBG binds with cannabinoid receptors in our neural systems, which helps regulate pain, mood, inflammation, immune function, and more.

Suggested Use

For our Recovery Full Spectrum CBD + CBG Oil, start using 1-2 servings per day (25-50mg CBD/CBG) for the first 7 days. If you feel noticeable effects and results in the first 7 days, you’re probably taking an optimal dosage. If you don’t feel noticeable effects, increase your dose by 0.25mL-1mL every 3 to 4 days until you feel the desired results.

Your body can build a tolerance to CBD and CBG where you don’t notice the effects. If that happens, take a 3-4 day break from taking this product to reset your tolerance levels, and start back at a lower dose.

Consult with a physician if needed before doing so or contact us.

Everything You Need to Know About CBG: What it Is, What it’s Good For, and Where to Find It

If you’re a health junkie or you’re up to date on some of the latest holistic health trends, you might have heard of CBG. But like any relatively new discovery, there are many questions around the properties, effects, uses, and safety of CBG.

Let’s answer some of your most pressing questions regarding this innovative, powerful ingredient that’s pushing boundaries on how nature can heal.

What is CBG?

Let’s break it down simply: CBG (Cannabigerol) is most commonly a cannabinoid – a naturally occurring compound derived from plants.

Cannabinoids and elements from the cannabis plant receive a lot of press in the medical world (both good and bad) because they contain some impressive (and sometimes “scandalous”) properties when it comes to interactions with our emotional, physical, and mental health.

CBG is the Original, Pure Cannabinoid

CBG is actually the acidic form and “parent” molecule of the other main cannabinoids CBD and the psychoactive compound THC. CBG has been famously coined as, “The Mother of all Cannabinoids.”

That means THC and CBD (along with all other cannabinoids) can’t exist without the initial formation of CBG in its raw form. This does not mean, however, that CBG contains THC or CBD.

In order for CBG to become something else, it must convert the raw, acidic form of CBG into CBD and THC cannabinoids. If the CBG is extracted prior to that conversion, it remains pure and potent with no psychoactive properties present .

This creates an incredible opportunity for a healing plant without the legal implications of psychoactive side effects.

Why Do Cannabis Plants Cause So Many Confusing Questions?

We all know the age-long debate over cannabis plants that contain psychoactive compounds is one that can leave you feeling quite confused.

  • Which cannabis plants contain psychoactive components?
  • Is there a difference between what medical cannabis plants produce vs. non-medical plants?
  • Is cannabis the same as marijuana?
  • Which cannabinoids are legal?
  • What’s the difference between THC, CBD?
  • What are the CBD effects? Will using CBD get me high like THC?

And now with the addition of another cannabinoid, you’re presented with even more questions:

  • How to CBG and CBD differ?
  • How is CBG used? Are CBG oils a thing?
  • How does CBG work?
  • What is CBG and what are the effects of CBG?

Don’t worry. We’ll cover all those questions and more.

But first, it’s important to note that while most common cannabinoids (THC and CBD, but especially CBG) are often sourced from the cannabis plant, that’s an outdated concept now.

Today, cannabis plants are not the only way to produce and extract cannabinoids. Cannabinoids are actively being found in other plants and sustainable production sources like carrots, citrus, and ginger.

What is CBG Good For?

Now that you have a little more background on what CBG actually is, how it’s created and how it differs from other cannabinoids, it’s time to talk benefits.

Some of the most notable uses of CBG include:

  • Reducing inflammation
  • Helping supplement a healthy appetite
  • Calming irritation and redness
  • Fighting cancer-causing cells
  • Fighting bacterial infections
  • Supporting some of the body’s essential functions for optimal health

How Does CBG WorK?

CBG works perfectly in the human body because it fits into the framework of how our endocannabinoid system functions. CBG molecules link with the cannabinoid receptors our bodies already use to regulate many processes.

The endocannabinoid system in the human body is wildly important for regulating brain function, endocrine function, and immunity .

The endocannabinoid system also actively assists in the secretion of hormones related to reproductive functions and stress, among other things.

CBG molecules interact with the cannabinoid receptors already present in our bodies to optimize performance and regulate healthy functions.

There’s a lot of heavy science behind it, but for now, that should help you understand how CBG works and all of its capabilities.

Is CBG Legal?

Yes, like some other cannabinoids, CBG is completely legal, provided that it is derived from a cannabis plant that contains less than 0.3% THC.

THC has psychoactive effects and is the most important factor in legality because it contains psychoactive properties that are potent above 0.3%.

So, CBG is only illegal if it’s derived from a hemp plant containing more than 0.3% THC.

And here’s the deal: a hemp plant containing more than 0,3% THC is designated as marijuana.

As you probably already know, marijuana is considered a controlled substance under the Controlled Substance Act , which has legal implications.

The short of it: CBG sourced from marijuana (a THC-heavy plant) is illegal, but also not common in things like skincare products.

You’ll want your CBG to be derived from a source containing less than 0.3% THC, which shouldn’t be too hard to find, especially since, again, you can find ad extract CBG in other sources, such as sugarcane.

After years of development and biotechnology, the sugarcane plant has become an incredible and sustainable source for CBG.

The sugarcane also takes THC and psychoactive properties out of the picture, for a simplified healing, nourishing solution – the way nature intended.

At Terasana, we’ve formulated a revolutionary process through sustainably-sourced sugarcane fermentation to create pure, clean, and functional CBG. Zero legal implications, all the benefits of a cannabinoid compound.

It’s a game-changer.

Why You Maybe Haven’t Heard of CBG Before

CBG is expensive to extract and produce, generally speaking. Since it’s derived in the early stages of the plant life of hemp, harvesting becomes expensive.

You have to spend time, labor, and money to plant more cannabis plants, harvest them early, trash the remains, and start over.

Plus, you’re only able to extract a minuscule amount of CBG from each plant since the plant isn’t fully developed. (We’re talking only 1% of the plant contains CBG).

This production process requires massive land use and money to source production. It’s ineffective, wasteful, and harmful to the environment.

At Terasana, we’ve found a sustainable and affordable way to produce CBG.

Our proprietary production uses sustainably sourced sugarcane and biotechnology to create CBG in a lab. And before you ask – no, lab-created CBG isn’t fake or synthetic – it’s simply derived from a different process but contains the same molecular makeup as CBG sourced from the cannabis plant.

That’s why we believe we’re bringing a revolutionary solution with our patented process, making CBG products affordable and accessible.

What’s the Difference Between CBG & CBD?

Usually, when someone is introduced to CBG, their first question is:

How is CBG different from CBD?

Luckily, it doesn’t require a super scientific answer: it’s pretty simple.

Both CBG and CBD have different molecule structures , neither of which have psychoactive properties, unlike THC.

CBG is the original source of CBD but can be extracted before it’s synthesized into the compound CBD.

So why choose CBG over CBD? It’s commonly argued that CBG is more powerful since it’s a precursor to all other cannabinoids. People want results, and CBG delivers.

Benefits of CBG

CBG’s biggest benefit over CBD: No THC present, ever.

Because of how CBG forms, it’s just not part of the equation. And for companies like Terasana, it provides an affordable, effective remedy for a variety of health concerns.

A solution derived from nature, without the complications of THC being a concern. Deleted from the conversation. (We’re not hating on THC, it’s just much simpler without it).

CBG in all forms (most commonly a component of a formula or a standalone CBG oil) covers a wide range of health benefits – notably specific benefits like antibiotic properties and appetite stimulation.

CBG also boasts a wide range of skincare benefits and both mental and physical benefits too.

Skincare Benefits

At Terasana, we love CBG for its antibacterial properties when it comes to healthy and nourished skin. It’s the ultimate healer for unwanted blemishes, inflammation, and irritation. Paired with squalane oil to provide moisture and transport nutrients deep into the skin, you can expect healthy skin on a cellular level.

CBG is a much-needed addition to an efficient, simple skincare routine . It’s a proactive way to keep your skin happy, clear, and nourished.

Mental Benefits

CBG also acts as a powerful regulator for mental health.

Many find CBG oil can be used similar to CBD oils, calming anxiety and effectively relieving stress.

Stress, anxiety, and depression are all known to take a large toll on our physical and mental wellbeing. CBG oil could be the tool that finally helps you naturally treat and relieve your mental health concerns.

As always, consult your doctor or professional medical advice before relying on CBG oil or supplements if you’re struggling with a serious mental condition.

Physical Benefits

We’re happy to report that many benefits extend to the physical realm too. The physical health benefits of CBG are still being studied, but there are many promising results so far.

Studies show the effectiveness of CBG in reducing inflammation in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or inflammatory bowel disease, something millions of people (unfortunately) struggle within today’s society. In a study conducted with mice, significant data concluded that CBG had a positive effect on the symptoms and conditions associated with inflammatory bowel disease.

Other studies show CBG’s ability to fight nausea, stimulate appetite, regulate sleep, and even fight cancer-causing cells.

We’re on to something huge with this newly acknowledged cannabinoid. It’s not really new at all, but it’s finally finding its way into our vocabulary. As a society focused on health solutions, we’re only just starting to tap into its massive benefits for a healthy lifestyle.

How to Use CBG

Many people would love to benefit from the health properties of CBG, but don’t know where to start or may feel overwhelmed.

So if you’re curious as to how to start incorporating CBG in your life, allow us to support you on your health journey.

Here are some of the most popular methods for applying and administering CBG:

  • CBG oil or tincture – in the format of a liquid application, CBG is potent and effective, especially consumed under the tongue. You can also mix it into food or drink.
  • CBG crystals – in the purest form, CBG crystals come as a powder that can be melted under the tongue or blended into a smoothie or oil as a supplement.
  • CBG supplements – Yep, CBG pills exist! You can add these to your daily supplement regimen in the convenient format of a pill.
  • Topical CBG ointments and products – applied directly to the affected area, or as a general treatment, CBG ointments and topical application through a lotion or serum can heal the skin for targeted results through absorption.

Side Effects of CBG

While CBG is not a new compound, its use in a healthy lifestyle is somewhat new. Because of the overwhelmingly positive response from those using CBG related products, there has not been a lot of research performed on the side effects of CBG.

Though, some using CBG liberally have experienced tiredness, dry mouth, or a change in appetite.

It’s important to also remember that CBG as a skincare product offers a lower dosage and is unlikely to have these effects. Check out our blog on how to apply face serum for more reading on CBG effects and how you can incorporate it into your daily skincare routine.

CBG Products: What are you waiting for?

CBG is a potent and effective solution for many health concerns. Whether you’re looking to soothe anxiety, reduce inflammation, or create nourished, healthy skin, CBG’s got you covered.

And remember, your health is your decision, and it’s important to make choices that leave you feeling empowered and ready to own your health.

Lazarus Naturals secures first on the list due to its high potency, flavorless taste and great price point of only $40.00 for a 30ml bottle. This puts Portland’s established brand as the second most inexpensive product on our curated list next to Plain Jane’s CBG oil. Lazarus Naturals is great for those who have dietary and/or allergenic sensitivities, and even better for those who want a greatly effective, highly potent fix without breaking the bank!

The Bad

  • Effects felt: Pain relief
  • Good for: Pain, Inflammation
  • Bad for: Users who want a full-spectrum of cannabinoids

Pain relief. Due to having a higher tolerance and experiencing strong pain and bloating in the stomach, I ingested 1.25 ml, or a 62.5 mg dose of Lazarus Naturals CBG oil. The physical symptoms disappeared in about an hour and 20 minutes.

Flavorless. Lazarus Naturals’ CBG tincture stands out from the rest as it’s virtually flavorless and has absolutely no hemp taste or aftertaste, which is great if you’re picky when it comes to flavor profiles. This tincture is highly recommended if you’re looking for a super-effective solution to help relieve pain and inflammation – and it’s also very affordable at only $40 for 1500mg of this USDA-Organic CBG oil.

Best THC-Free: CBDfx

If you’re looking for a good quality 2:1 wellness tincture, then this is the one for you! This broad-spectrum CBG oil is organically grown, enhanced with CBDfx’s proprietary 18 terpene blend, and has added antioxidants of curcumin and coenzyme Q10 to help boost the therapeutic benefits of the remaining ingredients involved. The CBDfx wellness tincture has a ratio of 2000mg of CBD and 1000mg of CBG per bottle, but depending on your preferred dosage level, other options are available in regular strength (500mg), extra strength (1000mg), maximum strength plus (4000mg), and ultra strength (6000mg). An easily accessible product for newbies all the way up to seasoned users!

The Good
  • Added antioxidants (curcumin and CoenzymeQ10)
  • Organically grown hemp
  • Cruelty free and Vegan
  • Childproof bottle
  • High-strength potencies available
  • Tested for potency, pesticides, residual solvents, and heavy metals, see the COA
The Bad
  • Strange aftertaste
  • Will stain easily if spilled (from curcumin)
  • Effects felt: Calm, Pain Relief
  • Good for: Pain, Inflammation
  • Bad for: Those seeking energy boosts

Added antioxidants. CBDfx’s wellness 2:1 tincture is a stand-alone product in which not only does it carry both CBD and CBG cannabinoids, but also the addition of proven antioxidants curcumin and coenzyme Q10. These are said to be “nutrient powerhouses” and are good for inflammation and heart health. It also has an added proprietary blend of 18 different terpenes which claims to be for increased absorption and efficacy for all ingredients involved.

High CBD and THC-free. This broad-spectrum CBG oil contains absolutely zero THC, so it’s a great product for those who are looking for therapeutic benefits without the high. This tincture has the highest amount of CBD per milliliter of all the 2:1 oils tested, which contains 67mg of CBD and 33mg of CBG. A great option for those seeking out a higher dosage of CBD!

Odd flavor. I tested this CBG oil one early morning when I woke up with a sharp pain in the back of my head. I ingested one milliliter on an empty stomach, to which I felt a nice sweet taste on the tongue, and no signs of cannabis flavor anywhere. But quickly afterward, I was unfortunately faced with a strange plasticky aftertaste. Granted, the pain was completely relieved about 45 minutes to an hour later. If you are someone who appreciates effectiveness over flavor, then this tincture is definitely the way to go.

Best CBG Oil for Anxiety: Extract Labs 1:1 CBD + CBG

Colorado’s very own Extract Labs offers users a balanced CBG to CBD full-spectrum tincture that uses CO2 extraction and is made with an organic coconut carrier oil. It’s a good solution for those who are looking to mitigate anxiety-induced symptoms and a good support for those who are looking to mentally and physically relax. Although it does have a higher price point of $95 for a 30ml bottle, Extract Labs also offers a 50% discount for qualifying individuals such as veterans, active military, teachers, first responders, healthcare workers, those on disability and lower-income. This company has great intentions of making their products accessible to all.

The Good
  • Full-spectrum extract
  • Effective at relieving anxiety
  • Transparent company
  • GMP-certified
  • Colorado-grown hemp
  • Tested for potency, pesticides, residual solvents, and heavy metals, see the COA
See also  Can I Take CBD Oil And St John's Wort Together
The Bad
  • Bitter flavor
  • Slightly expensive
  • Effects felt: Calm, Relaxed
  • Good for: Anxiety, Rest
  • Bad for: Sports/Outdoor Activities

Packaging. Right away, Extract Labs’ packaging is extremely eye-catching. Their use of neutral brown colored packaging stands out among the rest and brings a sense of nature-like tranquility and peace. I find that bright colors, along with various types of fonts and text alignments used by other companies can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming to the eye – or even a bit too “pharmaceutical” looking. But Extract Labs does a great job in creating a simple and easy-to-follow packaging label.

What’s also great about their packaging is the actual bottle inside. It’s the only bottle out of all nine products in this review that is transparent and there’s absolutely no difficulty in seeing how much product is left inside the bottle. It may seem like a minor detail, but it’s an important one!

Anxiety relief. As a person who copes with stress and anxiety in my day-to-day life, I collaborated with this balanced tincture in hopes to mitigate or eliminate some of the physical symptoms I was feeling that day. Two full milliliters were tested, or 66 mg of CBG and CBD in the late afternoon, just after having a quick lunch break.

Flavor. Be aware though that if you don’t like the cannabis taste, then this product will be hard to swallow and enjoy. The flavor is extremely grassy and earthy, with an even stronger bitter aftertaste. For me personally, flavor isn’t a huge dealbreaker, but its bitterness certainly turned my tastebuds off. But flavor aside, the anxiety dissipated and was gone about an hour later. I felt both physically and mentally relaxed and was ready for a nap.

Best Overall Quality: Medterra 1:1 CBD + CBG Oil

Medterra’s CBG+CBD balanced 1:1 tincture is delightful and delicious with its citrus flavor, and is a good choice for its fast onset and effects. It’s also a great product for consumers looking to help relax and mentally focus at any point of the day. With their products being organically grown, non-GMO, and THC-free, users are greatly informed on how transparent Medterra is and how they strive to provide their customers with top quality products. The price point is slightly above average, but it’s definitely worth the investment!

The Good
  • Subtle citrus flavor, no hemp aftertaste
  • Fast onset of effects
  • Derived from organic hemp
  • Balanced 1:1 Ratio
  • US Hemp Authority Certified
  • Tested for potency, pesticides, residual solvents, and heavy metals, see the COA
The Bad
  • Excess packaging
  • Bottle isn’t childproof
  • Doesn’t disclose method of extraction
  • Effects felt: Focused
  • Good for: Anytime
  • Bad for: Users with citrus sensitivities

Citrus flavor. One of the reasons that Medterra’s 1:1 CBD/CBG tincture is a wonderful product is because of its faint and subtle citrus flavor. It’s a fantastic choice for those who aren’t a huge fan of the earthy cannabis taste and those who are looking to help focus and/or relax. If you are one who is on the hunt for an ingestible oil with absolutely no THC, then this broad-spectrum CBG oil will do the trick as it contains nothing but only CBG and CBD cannabinoids. A bonus is that the MCT carrier oil you ingest is organic.

Packaging improvements. One area I would like to see improve from Medterra is their packaging. There is an exterior box with the bottle of product inside, however it would make more sense to eliminate the box altogether. This is mainly due to the information on both the bottle and the box being exactly the same, as well as being more sustainable by eliminating waste.

Another area would be their lab reports. Now, this goes to say that the oil has been tested thoroughly for potency, pesticides, heavy metals, and solvents. But on the other hand, it’d be nice to see them take it further by testing for terpenes. Their ingredients list states ‘natural citrus flavor’, but it would’ve been great to have seen some natural terpenes listed like limonene instead, similar to Bluebird Botanicals’ Uplift 1:1 oil. Natural citrus flavor sounds a little too vague.

Best for Pain Relief: CBDistillery Synergy CBG + CBD 1:1 Tincture

CBDistillery’s Daytime Synergy CBG + CBD oil does a phenomenal job at relieving some strong pain and inflammation in the body, along with providing relaxed, focused, and calming cerebral effects. However, if you’re a snob when it comes to the flavor department, don’t get your hopes up too high, as this one has a very apparent grass-like hemp taste. Great for those who have a medium tolerance level as each bottle contains 1000mg of CBG/CBD per bottle. So if your tolerance is on the higher side, then there’s the option of upgrading to the 2000mg bottle instead.

The Good
  • Effective for pain relief and inflammation
  • Calming cerebral effects
  • Informative packaging labels
  • US Hemp Authority Certified
  • Tested for potency, pesticides, residual solvents, and heavy metals, see the COA
The Bad
  • Grassy flavor and aftertaste
  • No precise measurement on dropper
  • Doesn’t disclose method of extraction
  • Effects felt: Focused, Relaxed
  • Good for: Pain, Inflammation, Anytime Use
  • Bad for: Activities requiring high energy

Prepare to be amazed when trying CBDistillery’s Daytime Synergy CBG + CBD 1:1 tincture! I was on day two of the most excruciating neck pain from dancing a little too hard at a concert a few nights prior. The pain was extremely uncomfortable and I was very sore and stiff with a nice little headache on the top of my head.

For mild pain relief. The product was tested in the early afternoon and on an empty stomach. Because the neck pain was so strong, a larger dose of 5 x 1ml droppers equating to 85mg each of CBG and CBD was used. About thirty minutes later, the pain on the top of my head subsided. Then about another 15-30 more minutes after that, I could literally move my head around and stretch my neck without feeling any sharp, excruciating pain! The pain wasn’t totally eliminated, but I was so happy to finally feel some relief for the next few hours. Feelings of relaxation and calmness were also experienced.

Because of how drastic my pain was, this CBG oil is recommended to those who are looking for mild to medium pain relief, and who will use it sporadically. With the dose I took, I would only be able to get a total of six doses, which isn’t very economical when it comes to $75 for a 30ml bottle.

Inconsistent packaging. The oil dropper inside the bottle has no distinctive measurement lines in milliliters, so it’s difficult to have an accurate dosage when you have to eyeball it and guess. There is a visual diagram on the external packaging to refer to for dosing, but I firmly think it’s too inconsistent and easily mistakable, especially for those that are inexperienced or new to oil consumption.

Best Flavor: Bluebird Botanicals

The Uplift balanced CBG and CBD oil by Bluebird Botanicals is a great choice for consumers who might be new to experimenting with hemp supplements and are looking for something to stabilize their mood. It’s also a great candidate for those who are experiencing brain fog or just need a little bit of a push to reach mental clarity and equilibrium. And with its affordable price point and delightful flavor, it’s truly a product that’s worth giving a try!

The Good
  • Tasty flavor
  • Great for reducing brain fog
  • Positive mood lift
  • Full-sepectrum extract
  • Tested for potency, pesticides, residual solvents, and heavy metals, see the COA
The Bad
  • Low potency per serving (ideal for beginners)
  • Currently only offers one potency option
  • More expensive than other brands
  • Effects felt: Mental Clarity, Calm, Focused, Content
  • Good for: Brain Fog, Stress, Mood Support
  • Bad for: Those with high tolerance

Delightful flavors. The Bluebird Botanicals 1:1 full-spectrum oil stands apart from its competitors in this list with its great flavor and absolutely no cannabis taste or aftertaste. They added the limonene and pinene terpenes to the ingredients list, which was present on the tongue when tested, but the pinene was extremely subtle at the end.

Simple packaging. Bluebird Botanicals’ packaging is very simple and sleek, using a nice soft blue as their choice of color on the label and a sustainable glass bottle that is translucent brown and easy for consumers to see how much of their product is left.

Mental clarity. The Uplift CBG oil was tested just before lunchtime on an empty stomach. At the time, I was experiencing some brain fog and a stiff neck from the gym a few days prior. I was hoping to relieve these symptoms before I started to jump into some computer work for the afternoon. And sure enough, I was feeling great just a short 40 minutes after consumption. Both the brain fog and stiff neck had subsided, and I was greeted with mental clarity, feelings of calmness and contentment, and ready to focus on the tasks at hand.

Fair price. This product is recommended to those who have a lower tolerance, that way you can get the maximum amount of doses per bottle. The price point is pretty fair at only $49.99 for a 30ml bottle, or $1.66 per dose. This is the third lowest priced product on the list right after Plain Jane and Lazarus Naturals CBG oil.

Best Organic: NuLeaf Naturals

Although NuLeaf Naturals CBG oil is thoroughly lab tested and carries the highest potency per dosage (60mg CBG per 1 milliliter) of all products tested, there’s a shortage in flavor profiles. It also comes at a higher price tag of $99.00 for 900mg CBG. While most tinctures combine CBD and CBG, NuLeaf offers a full-spectrum CBG tincture. Recommended for those with mild pain or those who are seeking out a post-physical activity recovery supplement.

The Good
  • Effective at relieving mild pain
  • Full-spectrum extract
  • Made with organic hemp
  • GMP-certified
  • No wasteful packaging
  • Opaque bottle extends shelf life
  • Tested for potency, pesticides, residual solvents, and heavy metals, see the COA (Batch #G121H2175)
The Bad
  • Expensive
  • Not the best flavor
  • No measurements on dropper
  • Effects felt: Slight Pain Relief
  • Good for: Pain, Workout Recovery, All Tolerance Levels
  • Bad for: Flavor activists

Thorough lab testing. A positive attribute about NuLeaf Naturals is their thorough lab testing and ensuring that products are safe for consumption. They use independent labs to confirm that their products are free from pesticides, heavy metals, and other residual solvents. NuLeaf is also certified by the Detox Project, which is an accredited research and certification platform that encourages transparency in food and supplement industries and their use of pesticides.

Dropper. Another downfall was that the dropper inside the bottle didn’t have any measurement markers, making it a little more challenging to dose. You also aren’t able to see through the bottle itself because it’s opaque, making it impossible to see how much product is left inside.

Effective pain relief. Although NuLeaf Naturals is looking like it could use a few more upgrades, it doesn’t dismiss the fact that it was effective in mitigating my post-gym soreness. It relieved some of the muscle pain and I was able to fall asleep with ease.

Quickest Effects: Dosist Calm CBD + CBG Drops

If you’re looking for a product that has quick effectiveness, then Dosist Calm CBG oil is the perfect choice to add to your stash collection. With their proprietary nanoblend technology, onset of effects happens in just a quick 15 minutes! This 10:1 ratio of CBD to CBG is perfect for those who have a lower tolerance and are looking for help with relaxation or need a calming aid.

The Good
  • Uses nano blend technology for quick onset
  • Great for mild anxiety
  • Sleek packaging design
  • Refreshing mint flavor
  • Uses CBG isolate
  • Tested for potency, pesticides, and heavy metals. Not tested for residual solvents, see the COA
The Bad
  • Only offers one potency option
  • Low CBG concentration
  • Not tested for residual solvents
  • Effects felt: Relaxed, Calm, Mental Clarity
  • Good for: Brain Fog, Bed Time, Stress, Anxiety
  • Bad for: Users with high tolerance

Simple packaging. Dosist Calm THC-free CBG sublingual drops catch the eye right away with their simple and sleek packaging design. One further improvement that could be made though would be to produce a bottle that is translucent or transparent, that way consumers can see how much product is left in the bottle.

Nanoblend technology. With Dosist’s proprietary self-microemulsification technology called “nanoblend”, the onset of effects happened in just a short period of time of twenty minutes or so. This formula stands out from other popular CBG oils as effects are activated much sooner than any other regular ingestible oil – which usually takes between 30 minutes to an hour or more. Perfect for those who are looking for quick effectiveness! Also great if you are looking for calmness and mental clarity, which is exactly what I experienced.

Small volume. Dosist’s Calm CBG oil only comes in a 15 milliliter bottle as opposed to many other brands that serve at a 30 milliliter volume. So keep in mind that if you are a consumer with a high tolerance, you won’t get very many doses out of it. Also, consider that you will be paying a higher price of $39 for a bottle.

Most Affordable: Plain Jane

Being the most affordable product on this list, Plain Jane CBG oil comes in a 30 mL bottle for only $35.99. It’s enough if you’re looking for some pain relief on a budget, but with a lack of lab testing transparency, flavor, and accreditation, it’s not really anything to write home about.

The Good
  • Very affordable
  • Good for mild pain and inflammation
The Bad
  • Bland flavor
  • Basic packaging
  • Bottle isn’t childproof
  • Tested for potency only. Not tested for pesticides, residual solvents, or heavy metals, see the COA
  • Effects felt: Pain Relief, Relaxed
  • Good for: Pain, Inflammation, Those On A Budget
  • Bad for: Those who want a premium quality oil

I chose to give Plain Jane the benefit of the doubt, even after they had scored the lowest on our best CBG flower list. But to simply put it, they scored lower again in the criteria for lab test results, flavor, packaging, and effectiveness.

Insufficient lab results. Plain Jane CBG oil lacked thorough testing, as it was only tested for cannabinoid levels. There was no testing for any pesticides, residual solvents, or heavy metals. This poses a question as to why none of these were calculated, and creates a space of confusion for me while looking a little shady. Is there something that they are trying to hide or avoid? Transparency is key in making consumers feel secure that a product is safe enough to consume, but in my opinion, Plain Jane does not give me that security and instantly raises flags.

Pain relief. The only positive thing I have to say about this product is that it mitigated the soreness I had in my body from working out at the gym. I took about 2 milliliters at first, or 68mg CBG. I waited an hour and felt that it only subsided a little bit, so I took another milliliter to complete my dose to 102mg of CBG. But in all honesty, there just isn’t enough quality for me to recommend this product. But, you can’t win ‘em all!

How We Tested the Best CBG Oils

After weeks of first-hand testing, we narrowed down our favorite picks for the best CBG oil products. Photo: Zola Costa/CBD Oracle

We examined over 38 different hemp companies across the market and their CBG oil products before filing it down to a more concise list of nine. These products were then further selected based on the company’s integrity, transparency with lab testing, and online reputation with customer feedback. Once this list was finalized, the products were directly sent to me and were ready for testing.

During the time of testing, there was no set time when I consumed the products, only when I felt physical or mental symptoms from pain, inflammation, anxiety or stress. I also used CBG oil as a post physical activity recovery supplement when I was feeling sore and fatigued. Due to my higher tolerance level, I tried to keep my dosage level in between 50-70mg. I did however test a few products slightly above that range, due to symptoms coming on a bit stronger.

I also considered and recorded how I felt physically and mentally before and after consumption, while making notes of flavor profiles and if there were any signs of hemp taste or aftertaste.

The criteria and numerical scoring used for this list were adopted from CBD Oracle and focused on the effectiveness and flavor of each product, the packaging, and the testing results for potency, pesticides, solvents, and heavy metals. These criteria sections had the potential to score 1-10 points, for a total of 40 points. There was also a certifications section, to which products could score half a point each for being USDA Organic, US Hemp Authority, and/or GMP certified.

How does CBG oil make you feel?

Although the effects of CBG oil are different for everyone, I experienced feelings of:

  • Mental Clarity
  • Calmness
  • Focus
  • Contentment
  • Relaxation

Does CBG oil get you high?

CBG oil is a non psychoactive product (similar to CBD) that does not create the intoxicating effects that THC would. So no, you do not get “high” from using CBG oil. During testing many CBG products, I only experienced a mild euphoric buzz in my body and head when I vaped CBG concentrates. In regards to oil consumption, I did not feel any sort of buzz, only pain relief and eliminated physical symptoms of anxiety and brain fog. Keep in mind that everyone’s body and brain are different, so CBG oil affects me differently from you to the next person.

Is CBG oil legal to buy online?

Yes, hemp-derived CBG oil with less than 0.3% THC is legal to buy and sell online. Learn more about the legal status of CBG in the United States.

How much does CBG oil cost?

Companies that sell CBG oil are typically served in 15 or 30 milliliter bottles, but are predominantly advertised by the total milligrams of the CBG/CBD cannabinoids in the bottle. Products tested in this review range from anywhere between $35.99 a bottle, all the way up to $129. It all depends on how many milligrams of CBG/CBD are inside. Finding the best CBG oil; Final thoughts

CBG is a cannabinoid that’s gaining popularity for its therapeutic benefits. While there aren’t loads of CBG products available on the market right now, we’ve reviewed and ranked some of the best CBG oils you order online. CBG oil can be effective for mitigating physical symptoms of pain and eliminating mental symptoms of anxiety, stress, and brain fog. If you’re looking for high-quality CBG oil products, we recommend tinctures with a 1:1 CBD + CBG ratio or tinctures with a pure isolated CBG. Full-spectrum extracts are always preferred unless you want to avoid THC completely. And make sure you’re getting an adequate dosage of CBG per serving – some companies label their tinctures as “CBG oil” but only contain small amounts of CBG per dose.
