We carefully formulate our CBD Coconut Oil in our facility through a vertically integrated process that delivers high-quality products. Using hemp grown on our own Lazarus Farms, we render CBD-rich extract from the plant using an ethanol-based process and then mix it with organic coconut oil. We make our coconut oil with whole plant extract containing a broad spectrum of naturally occurring cannabinoids. All of our CBD extract is third-party tested for potency, pesticides and heavy metals. Our testing process ensures we offer a product that is natural, safe and consistent. All test results are available under the Test Results tab.

If you tuned into our “How to Make Cannabis Oil” tutorial, you will recognize these steps. The process is virtually the same, except we are going to use slightly more coconut oil here. If you’re interested in making medicated edibles, check out that article!

Note: Sometimes, the surface of the salve may crack just a little bit as it cools. See the photos below. I have found that salve in our 2-ounce glass containers don’t crack, but larger volumes may. This is really only an aesthetic “issue” if you care. Personally, I don’t mind. It disappears as soon as you begin to dig in and use it!

Makes: Approximately 2 cups (16 ounces) of finished salve

Step 1) Decarboxylate Your Cannabis

Lather up! Apply a thin, even layer to the affected area. You should start to feel the results within 5 to 20 minutes, depending on the severity of your issue and strength of your salve. Repeat several times per day as needed.

In our cannabis salve recipe, we prefer to use mostly coconut oil, because it is full of saturated fat that binds well with cannabinoids. It is also ultra-moisturizing. We also add a dash of olive oil to increase absorption and smoothness. Secondly, CBD is a fat-soluble cannabinoid, meaning it breaks down and is stored in fat rather than water. Coconut oil happens to contain a very high concentration of fatty acids, with over 80% saturated fat content – in contrast to, say, butter which has around 50%, and olive oil only 20% saturated fat content.

And because acne is triggered by skin inflammation, CBD coconut oil could help diminish breakouts or other conditions similar or related to acne reducing redness and decreasing excessive sebum (oil) production.

Combined with all the natural goodness and benefits of raw, cold-pressed coconut oil, there’s no wonder that CBD coconut oil is becoming the go-to moisturising skin balm for people who need a calming, natural skin solution without chemicals or toxins that harm the skin.

It may provide local pain relief

There are a couple of reasons for this.

It contains B complex vitamins which facilitate the construction process for skin, hair and nails to prevent dermatitis, hair loss, and other skin conditions.

It contains vitamins A and D, which are responsible for skin repair, support skin cell growth and inhibit oil production to help keep skin soft and supple.

These studies show that CBD oil functions as an anti-inflammatory agent, helping to calm skin – especially atopic dermatitis (aka eczema) and acne-prone skin.
